after the nerf i'm stuck at 54% crit chance - i think the hard cap was 70% not long ago.
did i miss the patch notes with the crit chance nerf?

You probably missed the patchnotes. Serveral Caps have been changed. These are the caps i know about: Crit = 50% soft-cap, Damage-reduction, Resist and dodge/deflect = 60% soft-cap, Movementspeed = 50% soft-cap.
Maybe a good idea to include these stats in the Compendium @ neocore. ;-)

What's a soft cap and a hard cap?
A soft-cap can be "overcome/exceeded" by certain selected/special means. Usually intendet by the developer to reward certain investments in gear-, skill- or playstyle-choices. For critical-chance this includes the digital-weapons-belt, morality-crit-enchant on weapons and certain buffs and perks. Most of these means are usually bound to acertain condition(e.g. on kill) and/or have a limited timeframe.
A hard-cap cannot be exceeded by any means.
