Make meme virus great again!

Meme virus is currently useless at level 100. Its only point at max level is to be mailed to people who are still levelling up and actually can use them. And once they reach max level, meme virus becomes completely useless to them too.

How about extending its effect to the tech fragments? Those can be farmed way beyond level 100 and meme virus with such effect would be actually useful. "+500% tech fragments drop rate" or something like that and stacking with mission difficulty.

Meme Virus is only for leveling, I don't think that it should get any other property than this. But a tech-fragment drop booster would be cool. As a separate consumable of course. I will bring this up, I think the team will like the idea.

The main problem with the fragments is that their acquisition plateaus at +10 difficulty and remains constant with no way to boost it, while the tech fragment requirements increase significantly beyond weapon level 100.

The average fragments drop rate is about 14k per mission at +10 difficulty, while even in the lower 100s each weapon level requires ~200k (double that for 2-handed weapons) and continues climbing reportedly into millions at higher weapon levels.

I get that the intention behind this system is to have an increasingly demanding grind, but there should be a way to reliably increase fragment gains through various modifiers. Not at the same rate as fragments required for each additional level, but not at a constantly low level either. Having to use millions of fragments at higher weapon levels with the average gain per mission around 14k is not a nice prospect...

A meme-like booster is one way to help. Another is to unlock the increase of gains through mission difficulty (currently stops at +10) and scale TF gains exponentially instead of linearly at levels beyond +10. Tarot rewards modifiers could also be applied to TF drops - with three tier 5 tarots, mission rewards scale up to 250 - 280% (or something like that), which could be a nice boost to TF gains per mission (applied multiplicatively with the mission difficulty gains).

Yeah something like that or a Loot Quantity bonus would be nice. I've had to sell some of them since they're just not useful anymore.

I shared your thoughts with our lead designer, as always, in these matters he has the last word. If he has anything to add to this topic I will reply back.

Thanks, Marco. It will be interesting to learn his view on this: whether the system could be tweaked a little or if it is indeed intended to have it as a full-time job for the next five years - or an unreachable goal for most of us :-)

To add to the simple graph pasted below, here is the actual situation with tech fragment requirements and drops as it is in the game right now:

The data comes from a bit over 100 missions of all kinds, most at +10 - +12 difficulty. The TF gain per mission ranges from ~5k to ~30k (33k was the highest TF gain in a single mission for me). You can view the data here.

Obviously, the orange line will continue to climb exponentially with weapon levels; my data collection ended when I reached weapon level 100.

Open a new Sector, System and inroduce a new Race instead, give us plenty other Troops of the already existing Races and raise the Level Cap to 110 instead. Maybe even 120.

And with Troops I mean for instance like for Eldar - Fire Dragons, Striking Scorpions, Wraith Knights etc.. You get what I mean.
