Meet the Team:

Ági

Today we are introducing another veteran Neocore artist, Ági! She is responsible for the 3D environments of our games, so this is something you can immediately appreciate as you're traversing through the various locales.

Let's hear the story from herself in our newest "Meet the Team" interview!

Can you tell us about your job at NeocoreGames?

My job is to arrange various assets on our terrains. I usually work based on a concept or we talk about it beforehand, but there was a time when I got to create on my own, it turned out to be great and it felt good! :) So, sometimes I start from scratch with terrain sculpting and texture painting and then move on with arranging models, but other times I start from the second phase after Anikó has already done the foundations. Sometimes we work together, expanding on each other's work, if needed. I use Substance 3D Painter for texturing, and I also use Photoshop, Designer or [Substance 3D] Sampler, the latter two for only certain phases. I also use CoreTech for terrain editing, this was developed in-house, and it has produced the most bizarre and funniest bugs! Still, we make beautiful things with it, and I find it unique, like the style of Neocore itself.

How did you end up at NeocoreGames? Tell us your story!

I started working at Neocore in 2006... it's been a while :) I only knew Anikó from the company because she was my classmate in the Kisképző [Secondary School of Visual Arts]. I graduated in 2001 with a degree in photography. Afterwards I started working, and Neocore became my third workplace.

I was one of the first "outsiders" to join the company. It wasn't really clear what my job would be. On the first week I literally fell asleep in my chair! Then we started working on the first King Arthur [The Role-Playing Wargame, 2009]. We didn't have enough models. So I found a hilltop surrounded by bushes and smaller forests, and I put a giant cathedral up there, I thought it would look cool. That model had a significantly larger polygon count compared to the others because it was made for a video. I just couldn't put windmills everywhere :) The cathedral stood out from the environment, but it stayed and it even became a point of interest :)

What are some of your favorite things you'd like to mention?

I like TV shows, obviously :) Recently The Last of Us, 3 Body Problem, From... I could go on. I have a really cool 12 year old daughter and a fantastic husband.

Tell us something cool about yourself!

I train with kettlebells twice a week, and I go swimming once a week. I don't want to make it sound like this has been always the case, in fact I started doing regular training a year and a half ago, after skipping 20 years :)

Thank you!
