First thing i will admit here is i haven't finished the game, so i'm not sure if there is some swathe of options that open up upon completion however i went to play my first game of online co-op last night after about 3 days of SP and i found it just puts you into a random mission with 3 other people, go, kill stuff, end. I just feel that the potential is there for much more than this, the ability to keep your team going through a whole story arc or something at least - the way it is now is just idk, very bare bones, no real point, no reason to come back for more. I realize there is local co-op which might allow you to do the entire story but that....local co-op is great for siblings living in the same house or something but theres a hell of a lot of adult gamers now who would much prefer to play with their friends from the comfort of their own home (in any game i mean, not specifically this)
I am a huge WH fan and i got this game as soon as it hit the psn store, it's really good however with a little more work it would be great.
Also the matchmaking on ps4 is annoying af, you sit in the matchmaking and then get a game and 1 of the 4 in the match doesn't ready up, so everyone gets booted and has to restart the whole thing sometime leaves you looking for a game for 10-15 minutes, some penalty for looking for a match and going afk too long or booting the afk player from that group and replacing them as a priority please.

I agree. Multiplayer seems aimless. It's like it was added so the game could be called a Multiplayer game.
These features would allow a group a friends to play co-op:
The host controls which mission is played.
The host sets the difficulty level which sets minimum level requirement.
No 4 player requirement
A 'friends only' option.
I'd bet there are probably some issues with cut scenes as well as required interactions with NPCs to progress missions that are preventing something like this from being implemented.
Also local co-op doesn't allow second character progress, they just use a pre designed henchman. For local co-op you cannot do story missions, just side missions.

I will say that I did try multiplayer with a friend the other day, I hosted and he joined and we both ran around and did a few missions, this was on PS4, so it appears the 4 person rule is not in affect for PS4.
The multiplayer does not demand 4 players, you can join your friends and play together.
The coop suggestion to not start the counting from the beginning and let a party of 3 start a mission is indeed a good suggestion I will forward it to our devs.
